In memory of Mindy McCready who's music still moves me....
Ten Thousand Angels
Guys do it all the time
Here: just have a playlist of her songs It's about 30 of them, some of them old some of them new.
For those who do not know, she was found dead today, 2/17 of an apparent self inflicted gun shot. She leaves behind two young sons.

Random Flashback
Blogger and I got into a fight while doing this one.
But anyways, more awesome songs you may not have heard of. (and if you did you probably forgot them.)
Better Things to Do- Terri Clark
Terri Clark - Poor, Poor Pitiful Me
Lookie it's two songs, by a female singer, the same singer, and they don't sound the same! Hey Taylor Swift maybe you should get inspiration from her.

Watin Oh Joe
Random flashback time! Waitin' on Joe - Steven Azar
Not heard it go listen.
Now here's the interesting part, I have a copy of this song from way back when... my copy is different from the on here lyrics wise.
My copy :
"And one old boy said Joe never slowed down.
It was that 12 O'clock train,
So he didn't feel a thing,
Lord,. I believe that my brother's all right,
Still I'm prayin' he'll just give me a sign."
VS The video:
"And one old boy said that Joe never slowed down.
He tried to beat that mornin' train.
My life will never be the same
I didn't even tell my brother "goodbye"
Lord I wish somehow he'd just give me a sign." used in the video.
Why the change in lyrics? It does give a bit more of an emotional punch. Google is failing to give me answer to this so I'm not even sure.
Lyrics (c) Steven Azar and Mercury Records.

Flash Back time
I honestly have no comment on music right now. I'm trying to come up with a review of Taylor Swift's new CD, that should be finished shortly.... I'm trying to find something nice to say about it.
In the mean time, have some flash back songs:
BlackHawk- Days of America If only this one still rang true... Shame how 10 years can change a country.
In lieu of all of the stuff going on in schools and the like these days: Billy Gilman- One Voice was heard.
And finally, even with broken wings, clipped wings, caged birds, whatever terms you want to use, you can still dream and still fly: Martina McBride-A Broken Wing
We'll see if we can get this out more regular, even if it only is flashback songs.

Brantley Gilbert - Kick It In The Sticks
Kick It In The Sticks is not country. Enough said, this is not country.
I don't care how good of a rock song it is, it's not country.
Stop it with the rap, stop it with the pop, keep my country country for God's sakes.

Big & Rich: That's Why I pray
Not really a country sound but awesome all the same:
That's why I pray
Some stupid video posted as a joke, somebody’s life gets ruined // Out of everything we can create // Where is the cure to keep the sick from losing // Babies having babies ’cause their parents are always gone // Somehow we have forgotten how to make a house a home
And sadly these lyrics will still go over people's heads.
The lyrics are really good... I will admit however, like I said it doesn't sound 'country' and to be honest the music gets on my nerves. Kinda a shame such a good message, such a bad sound.

KRISTEN KELLY AND THE MODERN DAY DRIFTERS - Ex-old Man
This is love.
The Song.
"I got an ex-old man and an ex-best girlfriend, Took his ring off my finger, gave him back his last name So don't judge me, I'm doing the best I can"
Her singing style isn't the style of country right now. It gives me flash back to songs like 'Who's bed have your boots been under.'
I applaud this singer for not sounding like everyone else like the 'new' country singers of the day. Keep it up Miss Kelly, I can't wait to see where your career goes from here. You can bet I'll be listening.
