I love music, like really love it. I love stuff that touches me, the stuff that makes me happy, the ones that can make me sad, the ones that make me think. Almost any song that makes me have some type of reaction I will instantly love.
Danny Gokey hit it on target with me in his song 'My Best Days Are Ahead of Me', if for some reason you have yet to hear this song go watch it now. Normally I dislike people who do American Idol so I stayed away from him for a bit till I ran into his song on the radio, I rather regret missing him now.
How truthful can you be when you have lyrics such as 'old enough to look back and laugh at my mistakes, young enough to look at my future and like what I see, my best days are ahead of me.' For me this song speaks of getting older, moving on, and regretting nothing you did. You're future is always ahead of you and your life is what you make of it. It's full of promise of new days, and energy. Go out there, try it, you never know just what you can do with your life.
I would seriously recommend anyone who's feeling down about their lives to sit down and listen to the lyrics in this song. I'm working on an anti-depression play list, and this song is on it.
Now I will be honest, I went out and bought the 'My Best Days' CD based on the one song and the reviews for it, and I'm not to overly fond of the rest of his songs on the CD. They lack the energy and emotion behind 'My Best Days Are Ahead of Me'. I've sat down and listened to the entire album three maybe four times since buying it.
